 Field service engineer

location: Vimercate, Italy

Position summary

As allround Field Service Engineer you will install, assemble and test all of our products. Projects vary from new constructions or assembly to failure analysis, trouble shooting and problem solving.
You will be the working about 70% of the time on site with our worldwide, but mainly European, customers for installation and service. The remaining time you will work at assembly and testing of our products.With your insight and analytical skills you ensure the best performance for the customer. The customer is central to our service and it is crucial to provide timely and expert solutions.

For this job you are willing and able to travel up to 70% of the time. Worldwide, but mainly in Europe. This will often comprise working outside office hours and during weekends. Even though you will find yourself working alone quite often, as one of the team members you think with and work for the team. You’ll report to the Service Engineer Leader.

Key responsibilities

  • Installation and commissioning of EAS products on horizontal injection molding machines and vertical presses;
  • Perform maintenance and repairs to the above mentioned installations;
  • Troubleshooting;
  • Giving instructions and training to machine operators;
  • Making reports;
  • Preparation of on-site intervention work;
  • Management of on-site intervention tools and spare parts.

Required qualifications

  • Technical education (preferably Electrotechniek / WTB, mechanical and/or electrical engineering);
  • Knowledge and/or experience with mechanical, electrical and electronic components and systems;
  • Practice with setting up and troubleshooting operating systems;
  • Fluency in English;
  • At least 5 to 10 years working experience in a similar function;
  • Computer literate (Microsoft Office);
  • In possession of driving license.

Desired qualifications

  • Knowledge and/or experience with magnetic, hydraulic and/or pneumatic systems;
  • Practice with industrial software like operating system Siemens S7 and/or straton;
  • Good to very good command of German;
  • Familiarity with the injection molding industry.
